Why do Twisp flavours sometimes go dark?
Ever notice your Twisp flavours going dark over time? The moment you refill your device it’s clear orange and closer to the end of the filling it turns into a darker shade of brown…
To put your mind at ease, here are a few reasons why this discoloration takes place:
Since we do not add UV stabilisers or preservatives to our flavours, discoloration occurs over time due to oxidation. This affects the ingredients much the same way as oxidation affects fruits and vegetables. It won’t affect the taste, quality or amount of vapour it produces. It only affects the colour.
Older Coils/Carbon build up.
Older coils may cause the flavour to darken from carbon build up. The wick and wire inside the coil becomes coated. This carbon essentially “stains” the fresh Twisp flavour that was added to the tank. Luckily this is nothing to worry about. Simply wash the chamber out between refills by unscrewing the bottom hatching and taking the inside section out (as you do when replacing the coil). When doing this, please make sure the entire atomizer is dry and filled with Twisp refill liquid before use.
So there you have it… The next time you realise the flavour has mysteriously changed colour, please rest assured that it is not harmful.
